Fahrrad.de Awarded the Shop Usability Award

René Marius Köhler received the Shop Usability Award today for fahrrad.de. This confirmation of the young CEO's continuing efforts has been widely welcomed. “Purchasing should be an experience”, stated the 26-year-old entrepreneur. The unique business talent is well known for his constant reshaping of the customer experience in internet shopping.

Six months ago, Köhler engaged a commercial photographer and cinematographer. The consultant group helped increase the presentation of the products. “This was important for products requiring detailed explanation in the past, it has increased the customers understanding of all products in general, leading to more confidence in online purchasing”, explained Köhler. The jury also noted that the products images provided the customer with a better “overall feel” of the product.

250 nominations for the Shop Usability Award were received by the jury panel. The annual awards included several other categories; Best Customer Information, Best Product Presentation, Best Shop Graphics & Layout, Best Product Search and Best Features. The competition open to SME operators was initiated to assess the on going usability of an SME store from a customers perspective. This has allowed a better informed consumer with high achieving SME's awarded for their efforts.

This award has come a year after fahrrad.de received the 2007 “Online Shop of the Year” prize in the Business-to-Consumer Category from the trade magazine “Der Versandhausberater”. For internetstores AG and the internet agency NETFORMIC GmbH this previous award was the motivation to push the features of fahrrad.de and fitness.de further. Now a year later, internetstores AG can enjoy yet another award for their significant efforts in e-commerce.
